Helen Lee Meyers works in oils both plein air and in the studio and continues to refine her style and technique with every new painting.  She is known for her dramatic portraits and expressive, often nostalgic landscapes and florals which  reflect a lifelong desire to capture a moment and allow it to evolve, using light, shape and color, into a piece of visual beauty.

The artist studied at the University of Maryland, Parsons School of Design and the New School in New York.  She spent many years in the field of graphic design and illustration before turning primarily to oils. Meyers is a member of the New Hope Art League, Artsbridge, Portrait Society of America, Philadelphia Tri State Artists Equity Ass. and the River Rats Plein Air Group.  Her work is in numerous collections along the East Coast and she has had various showings in New York, Baltimore, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida.  She has been represented by Nagy Gallery, PA and Clinton Art and Frame, NJ.  Recent juried shows include “The Ellarslie Open” at the Trenton Museum, NJ, “From Easton to Bristol” at the Howard Gallery in New Hope, PA and the Philadelphia Tri-State Artists Equity 58th Anniversary Juried Exhibition.

Meyers has also been teaching oil painting in her Flemington Studio for 14 years and derives great pleasure in being able to bring out the creative spirit in others by sharing her knowledge and helping aspiring artists achieve their goals.

Helen is currently represented at The Upstairs Gallery in Lahaska, PA.
