About the Artist:

Jeanne Chesterton has always desired to be an artist. However, she has pursued this path seriously only in the past six years, with guidance from the prominent Bucks County artist, James Feehan, at the Rosemoon Studio in Pipersville, PA.  She paints in oils, primarily still life subjects, rendered realistically. She’s enthralled by the mystique of paintings she’s encountered which portray common subjects rendered exquisitely. It has become her goal to capture this essence, this mystique, in her paintings. Painting a beautiful painting is all about the subtleties of the surface color and light which draw the eye to deeper levels of investigation, to the rich depth beneath the surface of the ordinary, to what it is that makes it extraordinary, to what it is to make her or any viewer stand and stare and wonder in awe at the beauty of such an object revealed in an environment that makes it so exquisite, that makes you love it so. Among the artists who evoke such a response from her are Chardin, Jura Bedic, William Bailey, and Olga Antonova.

Jeanne is grateful to be residing in an area which recognizes its artistic heritage and continues to engage and promote artists of the current scene. As a docent at the James A. Michener Art Museum she is continually revisiting the regional artists of the past as well as being introduced to a myriad of currently acclaimed artists.
