Artist's Statement

Society has been desensitized over the last sixty years through all forms of media. The absurdity of the world has become the status quo and people have been left stagnant and under stimulated. Challenging myself as an artist to present them with something new and interesting, through my art I hope to restore the idea that there are still some things that have not been done or seen before. My art has grown exponentially in the last two years, transitioning from primarily abstract paintings into minimalistic paintings and surrealism inspired landscape drawings focusing primarily on context, scale, and line quality.

More recently I have begun to address and question stereotypes that we as a society have assigned to people, objects, places, etc. Through sculpture I hope to address and mock if you will what defines what we have assigned the title of “masculine/masculinity” and further down the road other stereotypes as well.
