Artist Statement

My style starts with a spontaneous eruption. At times the work has a structural and dimensional abstraction at the starting point. A commitment must be made by the audience to understand what is before them as the works tend to have a complexity and also a fine eye for detail. The concepts within all of the works are concerned with energy, places of rest, travel, flying, floating, catching, waiting, support, enclosure, fleeting and a certain kind of magic.

I am very informed by nature and there is a strong connection with nature in form , color, and elegance. Not to repeat the real but to capture the essence of what exists in a different form. I have received numerous awards, fellowships and grants and studied at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, New York Graduate School for Figurative art, and privately with recognized artists in specialized mediums.
