One World

For India Blake, photography is a way of sharing the things she is passionate about. Though her style is mostly documentary, she enjoys exploring other techniques. Two of her main influences have been Mary Cross and Ansel Adams. India endeavors to capture and preserve quintessential or telling moments about her subject as well as an image that suggests a story. She feels that her photographs are a window through which she can connect to things she cares about, and through which the viewer may connect to, both her desire to conserve these things and to her.

India is a member of the Princeton Photography Club, the Artists Association of Nantucket and the North American Nature Photography Association.

India has exhibited photographs at The Old Spouter Gallery on Nantucket, The Straube Center in Pennington, Artway Gallery in Princeton, the Hudson County Office of Cultural Affairs, Small World Coffee, Le Chardon Tea Room, and the Hopewell Tour Des Arts, as well as abstract sculpture at the Grounds for Sculpture. India is currently showing her work at The Joyce and Seward Johnson Gallery on Nantucket as a part of a group show of the Artists Association of Nantucket.
